Tekej is a research project that explores the potential ways to repurpose textile waste. The project's outcome is a flat and robust sheet that is created by blending ground textile waste with a natural binder. Available in three thicknesses, 0.5 cm, 0.8 cm, and 1 cm, and with dimensions of 50 x 50 cm, the mixture is compressed into a mold that can be either plastic or metal, and then allowed to dry. Depending on the type of textile used, the resulting material may vary in color, but typically has white or black-gray shades, and can be customized to the customer's preference. While drilling holes is a possible method of processing, additional options are not yet defined. This material is especially suitable for interior design, where its durability and unique texture can bring a distinctive touch to any space.
